Bidding On a GIG

This is your opportunity to sell yourself to the employer and get yourself a gig. It’s a pretty straightforward process and fairly self-explanatory but we’ll explain a few things anyway. First of all, this is an auction-style process. There will be a number of bidders and the employer will choose the winner among them. However, unlike eBay, it isn’t necessarily the lowest or most recent bidder who wins. The employer is sole judge of to whom they will award the gig.

  Wait for it
Every gig auction is automatically posted for 30 days. You may bid at any time right up to the last minute. The employer can wait the entire 30 days before awarding the gig or award the gig before the time period has expired. Or the employer may choose to extend the auction period. So unlike eBay, there’s no advantage in waiting until the last second to sneak in your bid.
